Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families, I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving Holiday. Amazing how fast the month of November went by…Advent is already here!
TEDDY BEAR Day is coming soon –December 6. Please purchase a new stuffed animal for the less fortunate families in Los Angeles. Have your kindergartner bring a stuffed animal of their choice any time this week.
The St.Vincent de Paul food drive begins today-bags due on Friday, Dec. 2.

The Jesse Tree will be our religion focus through Advent. The Jesse Tree is a symbolization of the spiritual of heritage of Jesus. We will be reading stories and coloring symbols from the Old Testament through the birth of Jesus. This first week of Advent has us reviewing creation, remembering the first chosen people and the promises God made to them.
Phonemic awareness letter/sound of Bb, short /a/ the ‘at’ family, and sight words. The reading strategies are predicting, noting details as we discuss beginning, middle, and ending. Printing practice in centers for good letter formation. Math chapter 3 has us looking at numbers 0-5, practicing number formation and counting sets. Lots of music practice with Mrs. Lyle and Mr. Doswell for our Christmas program. Mark your calendar for Wednesday evening, December 14.
