Dear Third Grade Families,
Donut sales have begun. They are only available by pre-order, so students must bring in their dollars now if they plan to have one on the 23rd. Please bring dollars in clearly marked envelopes or bags.
This week we’ll be studying the following:
Math: Unit 2 Lessons 2.6, 2.7 2.8 2.9. We will be focusing on addition and subtraction algorithms. Online videos are available at:

Vocabulary: This week we begin Unit 9.
Reading: The class will begin our second novel, Sarah, Plain and Tall, with an emphasis on making inferences this week.

English: We will give ourselves another week to complete Unit 1 in our Grammar books, finishing up the lesson on “Run-On Sentences” and reviewing the unit altogether. The Unit 1 Test will take place next week (although it’s never too late to start studying as it’s a long unit.)
Science: In class, we will begin to study “Chemical Changes” in matter (Ch. 7.2) focusing on the differences between chemical changes and physical changes.
Social Studies: We will begin “California’s First People.”
Religion: We will be switching gears to Chapter 6, “We Believe in God.”
