Hello Third Grade Families,
Happy President’s Day!
This week the class will go on our first field trip! On Wednesday, we will be leaving at about 11:00 to see a production of Flat Stanley at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Center. We will be eating lunch here at school before leaving. Students should plan to wear their uniforms.
In class…
Math: We will continue Unit 6 – geometry! In class, we hope to cover lessons 6.6, 6.7 and 6.8. These lessons include polygons, drawing angles and measuring angles.
As always, see the Home Links at www.everydaymathonline.com for extra practice. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.
For IXL this week, students are to complete the following third grade skills:
R.25 Classify Quadrilaterals
R.19 Angles: Greater/Less Than/Equal to Right Angles
H.9 Divide by 9
Below is a copy of the 8 individual multiplication and division goals. Students should be studying their specific goal at home for 10-15 minutes every night. In doing so, remember to reinforce the relationship between multiplication and division. (It’s all skip counting.) Click here for the list of math facts goals for 3rd grade.
Spelling: Click here for this week’s spelling words & pattern.
Vocabulary: We will begin Unit 12. Our next vocabulary quiz will be next Friday.
