Dear Parents, June 4, 2012
Can you believe it is June already?! The time is flying by and before you know it, we will be on summer break!
We are continuing on with our review of first grade! This includes all reading strategies, comprehension skills, grammar, phonics, and sight words we have learned thus far! We will also be continuing our work on our second Writers Workshop, with the topic of recess (everyone’s favorite part of the day!) As we continue to review the spelling words we have learned in first grade, don’t forget to practice using Spellingcity.com!
In math, we will be practicing making tens to make it easier to count, adding three numbers and using doubles to subtract. We will continue with our review of animals, their environments, needs, and structures as begin our in class zoo report. We will bring ourselves back to Social Studies through our continued discussion on language and how we communicate with people all over the world. In religion, we will focus on how we give Glory to God.

- This week is All About… Dylan and Jacob P. Congratulations!
- Please remind your student to bring their library book on Tuesday so that they may check out another one.
- Water bottle sales continue on Tuesday and Thursday for $1.
- Friday is a noon dismissal and Primary Centers!
