Dearest Third Grade Families,
The School Fair solar system projects were out of this world! What a pleasure it was so see everyone admiring your hard work last Wednesday. You have really outdone yourselves.
This week we’ll be studying the following:
Math: The class will continue with Unit 6 (Geometry) covering lessons 6.10, 6.11 and 6.12. As always, I would encourage you to follow along with us by completing the “Home Links” at www.everydaymathonline.com. Your child’s username and password can be found in his/her planner.
Note: The Unit 6 Test will take place March 11th. So much of geometry is reliant on math vocabulary, so keep talking as you review.
Likewise, we continue to practice our multiplication and division facts. Take a look in your child’s planner for the latest progress report and individual goal. As a reminder, this is part of the nightly homework.

Reading & Writing: The Reading Logs are back! Click here to download this week’s Reading Log. We will also begin with persuasive writing in our Writer’s Workshop.
English: The class will finish Unit 3: Verbs with Lesson 25 (Contractions with Not). Students are encouraged to study along using the Grammar Workshop series online. The Unit 3 Test will take place Friday, March 7th.

Vocabulary: This week we will begin Unit 13. Our next vocabulary quiz will next Friday. As a reminder, all words as well as activities and a practice quiz can be found at the Vocabulary Workshop website.
Science: We continue with Chapter 4, Lesson 2, the Solar System. The Chapter test will be March 12th.
Social Studies: The students will learn about the Branches of Government.
Religion: We will begin Chapter 12, “Jesus Revealed the Kingdom of God.”
