Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend among family and friends.
This week in class…
Math: The class continues with Chapter 9: Multiplication and Division, Part III. Now we move on from learning the “partial-products algorithm” & “lattice method” to applying them in context.
This week’s math homework assignment is as follows:
-IXL Skill E.17 Lattice Multiplication
-IXL Skill V.2 Fractions of a Number
-IXL Skill N.11 Divide Money Amounts
(Tip: For N.11 type carefully. Remember to include the decimal points and zeroes when inputting pennies)
Spelling: Click here for this week’s spelling words/pattern. Due to the holiday, our next spelling test will be on Monday, June 1st.
Vocabulary: This week we begin our final Unit, #18! Go to the Vocabulary Workshop website for words and definitions. Login information can be found in your child’s planner.
Grammar: We are to continue with Unit 6: Capitalization, Punctuation and Spelling. This week we will cover Lessons 44 & 45 (Commas in a Series & Parts of a Letter).
Reading: Our guided reading groups continue with a variety of books meeting the needs of all our students.

Science: We are scheduled to finish Chapter 1 this week. The test is scheduled for Thursday, May 28th.
Religion: The class will begin Chapter 18 “The Holy Spirit Helps God’s People.”
