Dear Third Grade Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. While we are most certainly in the home stretch of this school year, there is plenty of work to be done.
This week in science, we will be wrapping up Chapter 2. On Tuesday, we will review vocabulary and concepts in preparation for a test on Thursday.
Math finds us completing a chapter as well. We will be taking the Chapter 7 test on Geometry on Wednesday morning.
In language arts, we will be covering the following: Spelling – Unit 34: Words ending in –le or –er. Reading – The class will finish our unit on variations of fairy tales with The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, a look at the classic story from the wolf’s point of view. Language – We will continue to study verb tenses.
In social studies, we will wrap up our study of the three branches of government with a short quiz on Friday.
Finally, in religion we will continue with our Family Life series by focusing on being good stewards of our planet.
In terms of current events, we will be enjoying the company of the Ventura Senior Reader’s Theater in the library Wednesday morning. This should be a delightful treat.
Thursday at lunchtime we will be watching and cheering at the traditional 8th grade Powder Puff football game.
Lastly, on Friday we will be welcoming the In-N-Out truck at lunchtime. If you have yet to return your order form or have any questions about this event, I suggest communicating with the Office.
Have a great week!
Best,
Mrs. Espinosa
