Dear Third Grade Families,
On Tuesday, Progress Reports will be going home. Please remember to sign and return these as soon as possible.
Wednesday is a FREE dress day. Students need not bring a dollar should they choose to participate. Please see the dress code for clothing guidelines.
Thursday afternoon we will be “Painting with the Sun” as a guest teacher from the Ventura Children’s Art program will be teaching the students how to make sun prints.
Finally, Friday is a noon dismissal day. I will be out along with Mrs. Manning and Mrs. Benner at a meeting. The students will enjoy collaborative learning centers on this day.
In terms of our studies, here’s what we’re looking at for this week:
Math: Chapter 7 continues focusing on different kinds of triangles as well as patterns. There will be a quiz on Wednesday covering a variety of plane figures covered in class and types of angles, too.
Science: We will begin Chapter 2, which takes a closer look at animal adaptations.
Language Arts: Spelling – Unit 31 (VCCV words), Vocabulary – the solar system, Language – verb tenses, Writing – main idea and details, Reading – The Hard Boiled Egg Fad by Beverly Cleary.
Social Studies: We will continue with our study of national symbols focusing on changes in the flag over time and the writing of the national anthem.
Religion: Family Life continues.
Have a great week!
Mrs. Espinosa
