Dear Kindergarten Families,

Here we are in the middle of April! Your kindergartners had a great time at the Channel Islands Museum and Visitor Center. click  ‘trip’ to see a clip of Ranger Bill’s presentation.

We enjoyed our In & Out burger fundraiser on Friday. It was nice to see many parents able to come join us for lunch. Thank you for participating in our school fundraising events.

$$ Wednesday we have a free dress with a dollar donation $$

Martina’s birthday will be celebrating her birthday next week.  For children with summer birthdays, we will recognize all of them in May and/or  June. Everybody is crowned to enjoy their special day, a picture with friends, and birthday book.

Academically, we are working hard to complete our skills to be ready for first grade. Religion lessons continue with Jesus, our light of the world, chapter 21. We will be working on SLE C.1 Take Care of God’s World which connects well with natural resources and Earth Day, our science and social studies focus.

Language arts lessons: reading by blending/segmenting simple words and expanding our knowledge of sight words. We will be reviewing sight words for all students, even those who have finished all 15 packets. Our focus letters this week are /d/ and /z/. Our response when listening to stories has us making predictions – this week we will be get ready for a theme assessment in language arts and a chapter test math.

We have one last field trip on May 3, to the Ojai StoryTelling Festival- permission slips are coming home this week.
