Hello Kindergarten families,

It has been nice visiting with you during conference. Your children are growing academically as well as socially. We are working well together I am enjoying every day as their teacher!

Amazing it is already November. Tomorrow November 1 we attend Mass for All Saint’s Day. Schedule permitting, parents are always welcome to sit with us! It is also time to think about your little saint and prepare for our Saint’s Parade on November 17. Next week a simple Saint Report will come home as homework.

This Friday is a noon dismissal and Primary Centers! We will do a project to honor all who have served in the armed forces. Veterans Day will also be a part of our Social Studies reading and writing.

Working with coins and place value are the math skills we are working on daily. Reading, writing and fixing punctuation with simple sentences make up the morning work. A bit of backyard garden work is in store next week. We will plant seeds and small plants. Recording in our journals and measuring the growth of the young seedlings and plants will be part of our science and math learning.

Homework

Cozy up and read nightly, find a favorite book and discuss with your child their favorite part of that story. Have them draw and labeling is good. If needed help your child with the beginning sounds paper. I’d like to see some coloring on that paper. I encourage neat appealing work in class, it takes only a few minutes to make the papers look attractive. Practice in IXL and Starfall – your child does not have to complete the skills- spend a bit of time practicing.

IXL practice

HH.1 count tens and ones to 20

XX.3 count money – pennies

KK.1 Is it a telling or asking sentence

LL. 1 Capitalize the first letter of a sentence

Starfall practice

Enjoy your week ! If any questions arise, feel free to send me a note.
