The jogathon is coming up on May 8th.  We encourage everyone to buy a spirit poster and decorate it for the jogathon.  These will not be available the day of the jogathon.  To add to the fun there will be Kona Ice and fans for sale, Pie Throwing opportunities, and photo opportunities, and all of these can be paid for ahead of time (cheaper) or the day of the jogathon (more expensive).  Order forms are available on the website.  Each child received a jogathon envelope; please sign the permission section and send in the envelope, with donations, by May 8th.

Then the following Friday, May 15, we will have the In-N-Out truck on campus, along with Dippin Dots.  Both of these are only available through presales, so don’t miss out!

Work, work, work…This week we will be completing Reading logs, due next Monday. You may click here to access the form. Weekly_Reading_Log

In Math we are working with protractors, measuring angles.  We will not be doing ixL Math; your child will come home with a study skill sheet each day, reviewing what has been learned about division and angle measurement.

We continue work on finishing up and editing our personal narratives, focusing upon writing conversations with quotation marks, etc.

We continue reading about the Gold Rush (chapter 6) in Social Studies.

We are doing unit 27 in Spelling; because of the field trip, pages should be finished by Thursday, and the test is on Thursday.

In Vocabulary we will begin studying the words for Unit 15.

In Grammar we continue our study of adjectives and adverbs.

This week in Science we begin chapter 6, learning about earthquakes, volcanoes and landslides.  The rock cycle poster is due on Friday.

In Religion class we are discussing the 8th commandment.  This will conclude our study of the commandments.  Your child should be able to list the 10 commandments in order and we will have a test on this next week.

We have started reading our new books in Reading groups (all of them are of an historical nature, focusing upon the mid-1700s in the American colonies).  The book jackets are due on Friday.

Thanking you for your continued support,

Mrs. Dwyer
