It was great to see many of you for Back to School Night.  If you were not able to attend you should have received a folder with the agenda inside.  Please see me if you have any questions because it is so important that you and I communicate about your child.  We are a team in this endeavor and if communication is lacking, avoidable issues may arise.

Here we are into September already!  I am so enjoying this class.  There are many different personalities that add much “spice” to the mixture!  I look forward to a great school year with this group.

Please make sure your child has completed his or her Judy Blume book for our first written book report.  We will begin writing the report in class this Wednesday.  The books must be complete and in class by that day.

Fourth grade is the year for learning to take personal responsibility for actions and academics.  Students are moving towards being responsible for their own academic success.  It is ok to see  they have done their homework, but ultimately it is their responsibility to study for tests and make sure their work is completed.  Please let me know if you are having an issue with your child studying for tests or completing homework.

The first social studies vocabulary test will be September 14th.  The first science vocabulary test will be September 19th.  Please make sure your child spends time studying for each of these tests.  All of the words and definitions are on Spelling City.  All students have a copy of words and definitions in their homework folders.

Picture day is this Wednesday, the 12th.  Students are to wear school uniforms.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Blessings,

Sharon Redmond
