Dear Third Grade Families,

This is our last full week before spring break and it is a very busy one. On Monday we will begin the classroom speech presentations. Please make sure your child brings in a copy of his/her poem for recitation. 5-6 students will present Monday-Thursday and our five 3rd grade finalists will be announced on Friday.

On Tuesday, expect to find a Trimester 3 Progress Report in your child’s school work folder. This is also our library day. Please remind your child to bring in his/her library book so that two new books may be checked out. Finally, Tuesday is the deadline to turn in all Jog-A-Thon envelopes. If your donations and envelope have not yet been turned in, please send them in with your child no later than this date.

Wednesday afternoon we will be learning the art of Sumi painting and Japanese calligraphy with a classroom lesson from the City of Ventura’s Children’s Celebration of the Arts. This will be especially exciting in light of third grade’s emphasis on learning and writing in cursive. At 2:00, we also have Stations of the Cross. All families are welcome to join us in the church.

Friday is a half-day with noon dismissal. This is also Jog-A-Thon day. All students are to wear their P.E. uniforms. 2nd and 3rd grade are scheduled to run from 9:55-10:30am.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Espinosa
