Dear Second Grade Families,

Thank you for all your help in getting your child ready for First Holy Communion.  The children were all great!   A special thank you to Father John!  Also to Father Bill & choir students, who arranged the music.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration extra special.

JOG-A-THON is on Friday, May 8th.    Let’s see how much second graders can raise this year!

Here is a Look at our Academic Week:

Homework:   IXL U.1 (if it takes 5 minutes or 25 minutes, you must finish the skill); fluency; reading log; study for spelling test on Thursday

RELIGION:    We will play our fun jeopardy game to review unit 4.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

READING:  We are in new reading groups.  Our read aloud will continue this week:The Mouse and the Motorcycle

Writing: We will begin our opinion writing lessons.

SPELLING; Unit 31;  -ed and -ing endings (adding a double constant when adding an -ing or -ed with a short vowel.     Test will be on Thursday.  Your child may study their words using spellingcity.com.

MATH:  Unit 8:  Fractions;  We will do lessons 8.1-8.3.

SOCIAL STUDIES:  Market & Money

Tuesday:  Progress Reports, First Communion Certificates, and Permission Slips for our last field trip (June 3rd)
