It was so nice to see so many of you at the School Fair. I will be keeping the posters until June. We will be sharing them throughout the rest of the school year.
Primary Centers will be in full swing on Friday. Please send me an email if you can volunteer.
Homework:
A little change for homework this week. As we begin chapter 6, students are beginning to use partial sums method to add two or three two-digit numbers. I will be sending them home tomorrow with your child. There are examples for you to look over so you can encourage them to practice the skill at home.
IXL: H.2 (Math worksheets will go home tomorrow) Last week, many of you had issues with G.5. All skills can be accessed through a computer. There are some skills that cannot be accessed if you use a tablet.
Reading Log: Read 20 minutes a day (100 minutes a week)
ALL HOMEWORK IS DUE MONDAY.
IN THE CLASSROOM…
RELIGION: Chapter 13 “We Become Better Persons” Vocabulary for chapter 13 will be absolution, contrition and praise.
LANGUAGE ARTS
READING: We will review many of our reading skills this week. Students are learning to identify the skills they use as they read. Next week, we will focus on a new strategy.
Grammar: Adjectives, Capitalization & Punctuation
SPELLING: Students received their new words today. They will take their test on Monday.
MATH We have started Unit 6. We will work on adding three or more numbers, comparison number stories and graphing data.
