Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: This week we begin our 4th unit in math, measurement! This week we will focus on standard measurement as well as measuring to the nearest 1/2 & 1/4 inch and centimeter.
reading: In non-fiction reading this week, we will focus on reading biographies through different lenses. Not only do authors teach us about the life of the person the biography is on, they also teach us other facts along the way!
writing: In our informational writing this week, we will discuss that non-fiction writers make sure to include their own ideas and opinions in their books. Yes, informational books have a lot of facts, but we want to break all those facts up with our own ideas, too!
word work: Word work lists can be found in your child’s planner or their Kids A-Z app (on their kindles). Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.
religion: We continue to reflect on Advent. This week’s theme is peace. Throughout the week we will read and discuss how Jesus, The Prince of Peace, brought peace to our world and how we can bring peace to others this Advent season, too.
science: This week we will complete a winter themed STEM activity! How can we build the tallest standing snowman with only marshmallows and toothpicks?
Thank you all for your continued support! Have a great week!
Blessings,
Miss Poindexter
