Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: This week we continue on with Unit 4, measurement. We will work on practicing perimeter this week!
Towards the end of our week, we will review all of our math skills as we complete another fun, Christmas themed escape room!
reading: In our biography reading we continue to look and ask–what other ideas is the author trying to teach me? In biographies, not only do authors teach us about the life of a person, they also teach us additional facts and often times…life lessons, too!
writing: This week we will take a break from our informational writing in Writer’s Workshop and turn our focus to creative writing–Christmas style!
word work: No word work this week. Instead, we will be creating some nice Christmas gifts for our families 🙂
religion: We are in our third week of Advent. As we light our pink candle, we think about this week’s theme: Joy. Throughout the week we will read and discuss how Jesus brought joy to our world and how we can bring joy to others this Advent season, too.
science: This week we will complete another winter themed STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) activity! How can build the best Christmas tree using only gum drops and tooth picks?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Sending lots of love and blessings your way,
Miss Poindexter
