Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: We are very close to wrapping up unit 1! This week we will focus on counting money as well as working with number patterns. We will spend our mid-week reviewing and have our first math test scheduled for this Thursday.

reading: As we continue on with our fiction unit, we will work on stopping and doing comprehension checks as we read. Rather than waiting until the very end of our reading time to re-tell, it is important to stop as you read and check in on your comprehension!

This week we will also begin our reading centers; where we rotate among several centers and practice different aspects of our reading. We also take our first trip to the school library! Each child picks out 2 books a weekand is responsible for returning them back the following week (every Tuesday).

writing: This week we work on writing our stories as storytellers not reporters! We will focus the important aspects of our story and filling them with a lot of detail!

religion: This week we will work through Chapter 4, God Called Mary, focusing all on The Blessed Mother!

science:  This week we will investigate pollination and plant reproduction, focusing on the question, why do plants grow flowers?

Have a great week!
