Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: This week we will focus on addition with 2 & 3-digit numbers. However, we will learn a few other addition strategies aside from the standard method. We will learn the partial-sums method. That way, we have a lot more math strategies in our math tool box!

reading: This week in reading we will work on tackling tricky words. Often, we will come across tricky words in our reading. We will learn on a few strategies we can use when this happens in order to build up our accuracy and fluency!

writing: We will work on developing our final seed idea for our narrative stories. Before we draft, it is important we rehearse our ideas before the real drafting. After rehearsing, we will begin the planning process of our drafting, how is this story going to go?

word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Our spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.

religion: Saint Reports! This week we will begin the research process on our Saints.

social studies: We will find our places on different types of maps; map of the continents, map of the country, and map of our state. We will then develop an understanding of where other places fall, too!

science: We will complete a s p o o k y (S)science (T)technology (E)engineering (M)ath activity!

Have a great week!
