Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: This week we continue with multiplication and division by exploring with equal groups and arrays. We are focusing on the foundations and basics of multiplication and division by using whiteboards, math counters, and play-doh!
reading: This week in reading we will wrap up our fiction unit as well as our class read aloud, Stone Fox. We have enjoyed being on Little Willy’s journey as we read about if and how he will save grandfather’s farm. In this story, as well in our own books, we will begin asking questions back to our texts and exposing our minds to inferential comprehension; the deeper, critical thinking within our stories.
writing: We continue to develop our narrative stories, by looking at published books to get inspiration on adding detailed ideas to our stories.
word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Our spelling tests are scheduled for next Monday.
religion: This week we will get familiar with The Apostle’s Creed. We will discuss the importance of the prayer, why we pray it, and what it means to us as Catholic’s.
social studies: All about Veteran’s Day!
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Poindexter
