Third grade families,

A short week, but of course, still hard at work! We are approaching our last weeks together. During this time, we are doing a lot of assessing and reviewing. As a reminder, please consistently check our school website for information regarding our last week of school activities!

Important dates:

  • NO school this Thursday and Friday (5/23 & 5/24) or Monday (5/27)
  • Monday, 5/27 there is a parish picnic. If you’d like to join, please bring a side dish to share.

Homework this week:

NO homework this week. Our class has been working so hard, so please enjoy your Memorial Day weekend. Reading for fun would be a great idea, though! 🙂

Sneak Peek to our Week:

Math: Fractions, fractions, fractions! This week we were introduced to fractions, we worked with naming parts with fractions, as well as using number lines as a model for fractions.

Reading: We will discuss how readers learn lessons alongside their characters.  We will also begin our new read aloud, Dynamode Daniel as we begin to compare the characters to the characters in Because of Winn Dixie.

Writing: We will begin to revise our introductions and conclusions to our writing in a way that gets our audience to care about our topics!

Spelling: We received a new spelling sort this week, however, we will keep the same sorts next week. NO spelling test this week.

Religion: We celebrate Mary!

Have a wonderful week,

Miss Poindexter
