Sneak Peek to our Academic Week:
Math: We have begun chapter 2! This week we will continue to work fact families and “what’s my rule?” problems. Then, we will dive into parts-and-totals number stories.
Reading: This week in reading we will decide how to lift the level of our reading, by sharing our stories with partners. As we share our books and re-tell them, we will practice all the reading skills we have learned thus far. Then, we will jump into tackling more complex texts later this week.
Writing: As we draft our pieces, we will revise what we have written by studying what other authors have done successfully in their own books!
Word work: spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.
Religion: We continue studying the Apostle’s Creed. As we work on memorizing the prayer, we will talk about the importance behind it, too!
Social studies: This week, the middle schoolers will come to our classroom and teach us about our constitution.
Science: We continue to learn about how fossil dinosaur tracks reveal how quickly a dinosaur was running.
Thank you for your continuous support!
Have a great week,
Miss Poindexter
