Third grade families,

We are approaching the end of October! Time is flying by!

Important dates-

  • $1 Halloween tattoo sale continues this week
  • Wednesday, October 30th is a $1 free dress day- $ goes to the American Cancer Association
  • Thursday, October 31st is a free, free dress day! No Halloween costumes, please.
  • Thursday, October 31st please send your child to school with a flashlight; we will be doing a fun reading activity!
  • Friday, November 1st is a half day

Homework this week-

NO homework on Halloween night! 🙂

Sneak Peek to our Academic Week-

Math- Our multiplication/division math test is scheduled for this Tuesday. Study guides will be sent home on Monday. Then, we will begin Unit 3 on linear measurements and area. Continue practicing those multiplication/division facts, too!

Reading- We continue being detectives during our mystery reading! This week we will look out for red herrings in our books, discussing why authors include these red herrings in their.

Writing- Informational writing! We have chosen our information writing topics. This week we will begin organizing and reorganizing details that we plan to include in our pieces.

Word Work- Spelling words can be found in your child’s planners as well as on spellingcity.com. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.

Religion- This week we will focus all on saints and All Saint’s Day celebrated on November 1st.

Science- This week we will be conducting s p o o k y science lab as well as learning all about bones and skulls!
