Third grade families,
I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend as we thanked our Veterans for their service to our Country.

Sneak Peek to our Academic Week-
- math- This week we will work through Unit 3.6-3.8 as we learn all about finding area and using number models for area. Keep studying those multiplication facts, too!
- reading- This week we will wrap up our mystery unit, discussing and solidifying all of the mystery book strategies and using them with other fiction genres. Next week, unit 3…nonfiction!
- writing- In our informational writing this week, we will study mentor texts as we search for strategies to help us elaborate on our pieces.
- word work- Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on spelling city.com. Your child has the same words as last week. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.
- religion- This week we begin Unit 2, as we discuss how God is powerful and loving as we identify the God’s love that The Israelites experienced.
- social studies- This week we will study California’s regions, identifying and describing the four regions of our state.
- science- We will explore the science question, how long can people (and animals) survive in outer space?
