  • Friday we will celebrate Valentine’s Day as a class! If you’d like, your child can bring a Valentine for each student in our class.

Important Dates

  • Friday, February 14th– half day & free, free dress day!
  • Monday, February 17th– NO school–President’s Day!

Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

Math: This week we begin Unit 7! This week we will bring our focus back to multiplication and division, working with the multiplication facts we do not have memorized.  In this unit, we will focus a lot on the counting patterns that can be found in multiplication/division problems. Then, we will dive into number models with parentheses.

Reading: This week in our Character Studies unit, we will use theories about characters in order to strengthen our predictions.

Writing: In our opinion writing, we will practice persuasion, focusing a lot on what a persuasive writing piece should contain. In order to write a good opinion piece, we must include a thesis (main topic) and support that topic with detailed and convincing reasons.

Word Work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Thursday.

Religion: We continue on with The Ten Commandments! This week we will spend a lot of time analyzing each commandments and working to truly understand what each commandment entails.

Have a wonderful week!
