Sneak Peek to our Academic Week

math: We continue working with decimals in the tenths and hundredths place. This week we practice modeling them with base ten blocks and meter sticks, saying them out loud, and understanding the place value of each digit in the decimal. Towards the end of the week, we will review unit 5. Our unit 5 math test is scheduled for this Friday.

reading: We begin our new reading unit–Character Study! This week we will notice how a character talks and acts in order to get to know the characters in our books as well as make observations about them.

writing: In our opinion unit this week, we are organizing and categorizing our ideas in order to make sure that we are including all the evidence possible in order to prove our claims.

word work: Spelling words can be found in your child’s planner and on spelling city.com. Spelling tests are scheduled for this Friday.

religion: This week we will work through Chapter 18-Jesus Gives the Spirit to the Church, as wetly about the Holy Spirit, discussing how Mary was filled with the Spirit, too.

science:  This week we will investigate mosquito life cycles and habitats and discover the role of mosquitoes in carrying diseases.

Have a great week!!
