Sneak Peek of our Academic Week

math: This week we continue working with very large numbers, up to the millions. Once we are comfortable with the bigger numbers, we will begin to get our feet wet with decimals! We will begin to model decimals with base-ten blocks to help us understand the concept.

reading: In our whole class read-aloud, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, we will work on cause and effect.
In our small, differentiated reading groups, we continue being challenged at our reading levels using novels, close reading, and fluency practice.

writing: This week in our informational reports we will work on developing a Table of Contents. Table of Contents will highlight what each of our subtopics are about in our reports.

word work: We continue on with Words Their Way! This is our differentiated spelling program where we focus on spelling patterns to help us become the best spellers we can be! Spelling words can be found on Vocabulary A-Z + in your child’s planner. It’s always great to practice these throughout the week!

religion: This week we continue with studying The Ten Commandments. We will study Commandments 6-10 this week.

We will be attending 8:30a mass this Friday. Please come join us if your schedule allows!

science: We will learn all about The Solar System!

Have a wonderful week!
