Sneak Peek of our Academic Week
math: This week we continue on working on foundational math skills to help get us ready for third grade math. We are spending the first few weeks of school reviewing math concepts from last year. This week we will practice with adding money amounts in dollar & cent notation.
reading: In reading this week, we will work hard on our envisioning while we read. As we read, it is important to envision the mental movie in our head. Often times, we read books without any illustrations. In this case, it is up to the reader to picture the characters and setting.
writing: We continue working on our personal narratives. We have spent time using special writing skills to come up with potential topics. This week, we will work on choosing the final seed idea, then work hard to expand on it in our writing.
grammar: All about Adverbs! Adverbs are words that describe verbs.
religion: This week in religion, it is all about how God is generous.
social studies: All about Johnny Appleseed and his importance!
Have a wonderful week!
