Dear Third Grade Families,

We made it! This week we will tie the bow on top of an amazing school year. I still can’t believe the adorable boys and girls I met on the first day of school are going to be fourth graders. They can now write in cursive, multiply, divide and read chapter books! This year students began Accelerated Math (you will see this again next year), learned about our solar system and wrapped up with a study of the Chumash people. What a difference a year makes! It has been an absolute joy teaching your children.

Last Friday was Move Up day. Mrs. Redmond sent each student home with a summer work packet.  All work will be due on the first day of school and will be the first recorded grades for next year. Any questions should be directed to fourthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org.

This week will be very busy. Monday is Field Day. Students are to wear their family’s color as directed in last Tuesday’s school envelope. We are scheduled to have an early lunch at 11:30 and will take the field immediately after. We will not have music.

Yearbooks are scheduled to be delivered Tuesday. Then, we will meet in Families. We will also end the day with an assembly at 2:00. This will be our last day of P.E. This afternoon, students will be taking home their Art Portfolios!

Wednesday morning begins with a graduation mass. This will be our last day of music for the school year.

Thursday is a noon dismissal day so we will not have PE. We will have an assembly and celebrate Spirit day in the morning. This day we will also be cleaning out our desks. Any remaining unused supplies will be sent home.

Finally, Friday is our last day of the school year. Students will celebrate mass in the morning and be dismissed at 10:00.

Again, it has been a pleasure getting to know you all and I look forward to seeing everyone August 17th.

Best,

Mrs. Espinosa
