Our online week in 4thgrade…
Our plan is to do as much as we can as we learn how to use our online platforms! We are going to go a bit slow this week as we get the hang of things and then hopefully be full steam ahead next week. You will see that I have restructured my newsletter. At the bottom you will see our homework. Within the subject areas you will see the content we are learning and any classwork I have asked the students to work on independently. I ask that you remind your student not to go ahead with either classwork or homework. This is my goal for the week and we may or may not get to all of these lessons/activities.
Math: We are going to take a bit of time reviewing what we have learned so far so we can jump in next week.
––All Week Classwork: Practice multiplication flash cards – Finish Leprechaun fraction coloring page. Parents, please take a picture of the completed activity and email it to me! Thank you!
ELA:
-Writing: We are going to talk about a contest we will be participating in! Stay tuned for more information.
-Reading: I am looking for ways to continue our reading response journal. I hope to have all of that figured out for next week.
-Spelling: We will begin Words Their Way again next week- remember we are taking it slow!
—All Week Classwork: Read a book of your choice!
Social Studies:We are working on our first lesson this week from Chapter 5. We will be discussing the California after becoming a state!
—Monday Classwork:Watch Pony Express Video (Edmodo.com) and write a letter to me (Tell me 1 thing you learned about the Pony Express and what you are feeling/something exciting).
—Wednesday Classwork:Watch 3 videos about the Transcontinental Railroad (Edmodo.com). In the comments, write to me one interesting fact you learned.
Science: This week we jump to Chapter 5! We will begin talking about rocks and minerals!
—Tuesday Classwork:Complete first two pages of our science foldable.
—Thursday Classwork:Complete the next two pages of our science foldable.
Religion:We are working Ventures magazine as we discuss our season of Lent.
