This week in 4th Grade:
- Math: We begin our focus on Division. We’ll learn what division is and how it’s related to multiplication. Today we started this by taking a look at story problems.
- Writing: Drafting Time! Students have been organizing their evidence for their opinion essays and now it’s time we start to piece it all together! Together, we’ll learn how to transition from one piece of evidence to the next. Then, we’ll focus on writing engaging introductions for our essays.
- Reading: Our research is now focused on comparing and contrasting 2 weather extremes. We are seeking out patterns between them, in hopes of learning more about weather extremes as a whole.
- Social Studies: Students have started to learn about the different reasons why people came to early California: Gold, Glory, and God. This week, we begin to focus on Fr. Serra and the missions.
- Science: All about sound – How far can a whisper travel?
- Religion: We’re taking our Unit 2 Test about How God Strengthens Us to Be Holy.
Here’s to a great week,
Ms. Schmaeling
