Hello 4th Grade Families! I hope you all had a restful and fun Easter vacation. 🙂

- Monday, 4/24: School Fundraiser at Wood Ranch in Ventura.
Homework:
- IXL Math:Â (Please encourage students to attempt the skills and to do their best, 100% is not necessary)
- O.9 – Equivalent Fractions
- P.14 – Add and subtract fractions
- 20-30 minutes of reading, 5 times a week – 5 Reading Responses (Tuesday-Tuesday)
- This week for their journal responses, students can read nonfiction or fiction books. Please have them use the menus as their guide.
Our Week in Class:
- Math: We review what we’ve learned so far about fractions. This week, we make the connection between fractions and decimals even stronger.
- Reading: We pick up with The Island of the Blue Dolphins. We are nearing the end of our book and are having some great discussions about possible endings as well our main character’s motivations.
- Writing: Students are researching and paraphrasing facts for their informational reports. Soon we will start to draft.
- Science: We are in our final unit about Energy! This week students will work with partners to create the “Twist-o-Matic” and learn about how energy is stored in materials like rubber bands.
- Social Studies: Students learn about the ranchos of California. Next, we move into the Gold Rush.
- Religion: This week, students take their Unit 3 Test about the Commandments and forms of prayer.
