Our Week:

  • Math: We are prepping for our next test all about fractions.
  • Reading: Students start their shoebox museum projects for The Island of the Blue Dolphins! Thank you to those who donated materials. Students are really showing off their creativity with this project.
  • Writing: Students are in the revision stage of writing their informational reports. This week we learn how to add topic sentences and concluding sentences as well as how to cite “expert facts” in our reports.
  • Science: Rollercoasters! We get to have some engineering fun as we build paper rollercoasters to study energy. Last week, we created simple coasters, but this week we add some hills. We will discuss where energy comes from and how it transfers.
  • Social Studies: Our play is coming along! Students are loving the songs and this week in social studies, we are reading more about the “overlanders” who traveled to CA.
  • Religion: The 4th Commandment: Honor your mother and father.

Have a great rest of the week,

Ms. Schmaeling
