Dear Second Grade Families,
Wow! Can you believe it’s the end of the 2nd Trimester! We are working hard on wrapping up our week.
Today, I sent home a letter regarding Reconciliation and First Communion. If you have any questions regarding either, please send me an email.
IN THE SECOND GRADE CLASSROOM…
Homework: Fluency, Reading Log & NO IXL instead I sent home a worksheet to review our last unit.
RELIGION: We continue our Reconciliation preparations. We are “Examining our Conscience” this week and doing a few activities reflecting our reconciliation including a heart necklace.
LANGUAGE ARTS
WRITING: We will define persuade, fact and opinion. We will discuss topic sentence and supporting your topic with reason or argument.
READING: We will wrap up “The Great Ballgame” with comprehension skill on cause and effect. Reading skill is on summarizing.
We will read summaries of the ANT and THE GREAT BALLGAME to help with fluency.
SPELLING: Unit 23, ou and ow spelling pattern as in brown and mouse. Remember to go onto spellingcity.com for practice before the spelling test on Friday (full day on Friday). 🙂
MATH: We will continue practicing Algorithm. I sent home a math worksheet that will be turned in on Monday. This is a review from last week’s Unit 4. We have started Unit 5. We will get through 5.1-5.3 this week.
SCIENCE: Chapter 7 Magnets: Vocabulary: Magnet Field, poles, attract
