Dear Kindergarten Parents and Families,
I am happy to welcome your student to our school! I want to thank the families that were able to attend orientation today. Your children came ready to learn. We had fun finding our seats, listening to directions, printing our names, graphing our favorite ice cream, and of course visiting the playground!
School starts at 7:50 each day. In the morning we meet and line up in the courtyard area between 7:35-7:50. Please look for two big ‘K’ letters on the cement. We line up with boys on the left and girls on the right, facing towards our classroom.
On Wednesday morning we come into class, drop off supplies and walk out to the courtyard for a welcoming assembly. Parents are welcome to join us- when assembly is over… students will make that separation from parents as we return to begin our day.
A reminder for homework…..all I need is the reading log. Please bring the reading log sheet(s) on Wednesday. I have been tracking your children as they reviewed/practiced ixl pre-k math and some typing. Wonderful work and lots of awards for your children. I am truly impressed with the work they did. The typing web was difficult for those little hands to make the stretch- recognizing letter location is the beginning skill I was hoping for. This will help your student log in when working in the computer lab.
If your child will be going to Extended Day Care program (EDC), it is important let me know with a note if I do not see you before school. In the classroom, I have a check off list for EDC. Please feel free to come in class and √ off the days your child will be attending.
Each Friday we attend Mass as a school and sit with their 4th grade buddies. Kinders will be present in church next Friday. If your schedule permits, please join us…parents are always welcome! (We sit on the right side near the front.)
Thank you for your children!
