Hello-
It was so nice to see so many of you at the School Fair. The students did a great job on their Flat Person presentation boards. They will be going home today.
Homework: A little change for homework this week. As we begin chapter 6, students are beginning to use partial sums method to add two or three two-digit numbers. I have attached some practice sheets below this week so students can begin to practice these strategies at home. There are examples for you to look over so you can encourage them to practice the skill at home.

IN THE CLASSROOM…
RELIGION: We will go over vocabulary this week are confession, penance. We will review chapter 12 and begin Chapter 13: We Become Better Persons. Vocabulary for chapter 13 will be absolution, contrition and praise. We will soon visit the confessional rooms before our First Reconciliation.
LANGUAGE ARTS
READING: Soon, we will begin our new story “Ants”.
Strategy Focus: questioning. Question strategy means asking an interesting question about important information you have read. Our comprehension skill focus is text organization. We will identify details for the main idea.
Grammar: Plural Possessive Nouns, Capitalization & Punctuation
SPELLING: Unit 25, spelling pattern: compound words. Our test will be on Friday. Practice spelling words on spellingcity.com.
Writing: We continue editing and publishing our How To Books. J
Cursive writing: n and m will be our focus this week.
MATH We have started Unit 6 last week. We continue with 6.2 and will end up at 6.4 at the end of the week.
SCIENCE: We continue with earth’s natural resources: water, rock/minerals and fuel.
