What a fun-filled week! Today, we celebrated 100 days at Sacred Heart School. Your children looked fantastic dressed like they were 100 years old. We look forward to exchanging valentines on Friday.

Reading Log Wk 16 – Please read a minimum of 20 minutes daily with the goal of having read 100 or more minutes for the week.
A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS
READING: We continue learning how to become expert nonfiction readers by rereading and using the lingo to teach others.
PHONICS: We are learning about plural endings -es and -s and the ending -tion.
SPELLING: Spelling tests will be on Friday.
MATH: We complete the unit on 2-D and 3-D shapes and will take the unit test on Friday.
RELIGION: In Chapter 14, we learn that Jesus calls us his friends. We also review all we have learned about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The main focus being that we need to feel sorrow for our sins.
WRITER’S WORKSHOP: We continue writing opinions about our favorite books looking more closely at our books and gathering evidence to support our opinions.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are learning about long ago and today. We are learning about cooking, transportation, education, and communication.
EVENTS THIS WEEK
FRIDAY: FREE free dress, exchanging valentines, and 11:45 a.m. dismissal
MONDAY: February 15th – No school in honor of Presidents’ Day
