Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
math: We will begin unit 2 this week! This week we will jump back to our addition and subtraction facts; practicing with fact families and extensions of addition and subtraction facts. For example, if we know that 2+3=5 we must also know that 20 + 30=50 (all we do is add those zeros!)
reading: As we continue on with our fiction unit, we will work on making predictions. In third grade, when making predictions, we use text evidence to help us. We want to ask ourselves, “Based on what has already happened in the story, what do I think will happen next?” By making predictions, we are referring back to previous events in the story to help us make those predictions!
writing: This week we continue with our personal narratives! We have drafted quite a bit! Although we are not done with our stories, we can always edit as we go and this week we will practice just that! We will go back to our previous writing and edit what we have so far.
religion: This week we will work through Chapter 5, Jesus Calls Us to Follow. We will discuss how Jesus called the apostles and disciples.
social studies: We begin social studies this week! This week we will work with maps and finding our spot in this big world!
Have a wonderful week!
