Thursday: our in house field trip – we will listen to book Music over Manhattan and have an exciting lab on vibration. We will be dressed in lab coats during the experiments. Look for the decorated envelope coming home on Monday!! Please send $8.00 for this RAYS program.

Friday is a full day of school.

A peek at the academics for the week:

We have been learning how to share God’s love by reading the Children’s Bible and our Religion book. Moving now to the last unit; how to celebrate God’s gift of love with others. In Chapter 19 we focus on Seeds Are Good. Comparing how plants like Jesus die to bring new life.

ELA – beginning-middle and ending sounds as we segment and blend those sounds together. Reading workshop has us sounding out words, using our sight word knowledge and pictures help us to be super readers! Our Writer’s Workshop is writing to tell information. How to Books is the focus – we are working on the introduction. Spelling words this week come from list 5 in our sight words. List five words to practice: you, an, can, no, am. Our print practice for tall lower case letters (b, d, f, h, k, l, t) and lower case letters that fall (g, j, p, q and y) continue as part of our group work.

Math finds us adding and subtracting with objects and numbers. We will refresh ourselves on correct number printing, place value, and measurement.

Science continues with the senses, this week sound. Social Studies keeps us busy with our American Symbols.

Enjoy your week!

Blessings,

Mrs. Brown
