Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Thank you all for coming to Back to School Night. I am excited for the year. If you have not already done so please return the permission slip and monies for the September 10th fieldtrip to Ronald Reagan Library. This Friday is a noon dismissal for a staff meeting.
Tuesday packets will begin on Tuesday, September 3.
Every night your child should be reviewing their Social Studies and Science notes. By Friday every student needs to have completed three Acc math packets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is fifthgrade@sacredheartschoolventura.org. Please make sure that all students have their needed supplies everyday (paper, pencils, binders and flash drives).
Below is an overview of our week:
Vocabulary: Unit 1. We will be having our first test this Thursday.
Math: We are learning the Divisibility Rules. This week is the first week of Acc math homework. Students are to complete 3 assignments by Friday.
Social Studies: We will be focusing on the Native Americans of the Southwest.
Science: We are focusing on cells being the basic building blocks of all living things.
English Language Arts: We will begin to read our book, We are the Ship.
Grammar: Simple subjects and simple predicates are the focus this week.
Religion: We will begin analyzing the different parts of the Mass.
