Dear Parents, October 3, 2011
It has been a great year so far! I would like to thank you for sharing your children with me – I have enjoyed getting to know them, spending time learning and playing together.
Our eighth grade teacher, Mrs. Dwyer, is relocating to Rio de Janeiro and I will be moving to the eighth grade teaching middle school math and science.
I leave the children in the talented hands of Miss Manning. Miss Manning is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a BA in Communications and minors in Irish Studies and Theatre Arts. She is currently pursuing her masters in education and credential at Loyola Marymount University.
Miss Manning worked with the children last year when they were in kindergarten and again this school year in first grade. The children are comfortable with her, respect her, and enjoy her enthusiasm. She is very excited with her new position. I know that you will be as kind and supportive of her as you were of me.
During the next two weeks we will keep the usual grouping schedules and I will spend part of the day in first grade and part of the day in eighth grade as we transition into our new positions.
It is with sadness that I say goodbye to the first grade but also with much excitement to “play with the big kids” in middle school. In just a few years I will have the opportunity to teach your children once again!
Thank you again for your kindness, your support, and your children. It has been a pleasure being in first grade.
Love,
Mrs. Manning
