The middle school participated in Christmas themed collaboration projects this week. Mrs. Clemmensen’s group researched Christmas traditions from different countries. Then the students decorated a tree representing that countries traditions. The trees are displayed in the library for everyone to view. They also prepared posters with information about the way the country celebrates Christmas. Each group also brought in delicious food and treats to share from each country. We all enjoyed sweet and savory treats from India, Italy, Germany, France, Brazil, and Columbia. We also learned about many legends told in each country during the holiday season. The final part of the project was for students to write a short essay answering the essential questions, “How does knowing about another countries culture and traditions help us improve global relationships?”. Everyone had a great time and learned something about other countries traditions and culture.
