Dear Kindergarten Parents,
What a nice Valentine’s Day party! Thanks to our room moms and all parents who came in and for those who helped from home to make our party a success. I appreciate all the cards, chocolate treats, flowers, and hugs- thank you kindergarten families! I’m hoping all had a great 3-day weekend enjoying the warm winter weather. Here we go with our 4 day week…
*Wednesday is a free dress -donations of $1.00 + please help support our mission efforts in Uganda.
*Thursday is our workshop, “Hey, Little Ant”. Be sure to ask your little scientist all about this educational program.

Academics for this week:
Religion: Forgive like Jesus. Feelings and forgiveness comes with learning how to express emotions that enrich our lives. Our Bible story is about Zacchaeus and scripture, Matthew 18:35 “Forgive others from your heart.”
ELA: Focus letter is /P/ and listening for short vowels, in particular /a/. Organizing our thoughts to categorize and classify events help our comprehension as we listen to our weekly stories. Continued work with blending/segmenting and rhyming words.
Everyday Math: Review measurement with standard and non-standard units, continued counting by, 2’s 5’s, and 10’s, along with using tally marks to record information. Introducing subtraction – review of addition and use of symbols to write number models.
Science: All students will be finishing up our landforms and bodies of water for the school fair. Research on the World Book Web will continue in class and information will be recorded for our reports.
Social studies finds us learning interesting facts about our Presidents.
Have a wonderful week!
