Dear Kindergarten Families,
The school envelopes will come home on Tuesday along completed class work folder. After your review the contents please sign and return both red envelope and and gold folder.
Friday is a noon dismissal with Primary Centers.
Academics for this week:
Religion – Our Hearts are Good – this chapter from our text helps us to know the deep love Jesus has for us and to understand our love as a gift from God.
Language arts- our focus is on letters/sounds; working hard on word families: blending each consonant and vowel sound to make words. This week we will look at a sentence and its punctuation; take it apart and read to put it back together -noting that sentences are made up of words with correct spacing and punctuation. Print practice each day.
Writing workshop has us label our diagrams from our step by step writing. Writing to give more information. When your child cannot write in detail, our focus is to draw and label the details to show more information. Our Reading Workshop lesson has us making our books come to life by talking about pages and illustrations. As always we are using our ‘powers’ to do a fantastic job as we enjoy reading with our partner.
We are working on animals in the winter. Our main focus is understanding what they do in the cold months of winter. Which is a large part of our reading in language arts along with phonics and writing.
Social studies has us learning some simple facts of our past presidents.
FYI – Now that our schedule is getting back to normal, we will check out a book this week.
Enjoy your week!
