Hello First Grade Families!
This month is going by so fast! I wanted to say thank you to all who have sent me what saint their child wishes to be this year! Here are also some important dates to remember in the coming weeks!
Dates and Reminders:
Halloween Tattoos Pre-Sale: $1.00 each and the purchase of them goes to Adopt-A-Family, an organization that helps families in need. They may purchase any number of tattoos they wish but may only wear 2 tattoos at school which the 8th graders will be giving out on Halloween morning 10/31. The rest goes home in an envelope.
Friday (10/28) Primary Centers: Volunteers are needed for this special day at Sacred Heart. It will be from 10:00-11:45 a.m. Volunteers are asked to be at school at 9:50 a.m.
Friday (11/4) Fall Harvest Showcase: K-2 grade Saint’s Parade. Mrs. Benner will be sending you email reminders regarding this special day!
So much learning in first grade has been happening! They are soaking up the reading and writing we are doing! We love learning about bats and cannot believe all the facts we already know! In math, we are learning more about money and how it can change based on what value we need when using it. For example, I would rather carry one nickel than five pennies. And two dimes rather than four nickels and so forth. In religion, we are learning about how we are all special and how very special people became saints.
Thank you so much for all of your help in letting me know about changes in your student’s schedules! I appreciate the emails!
Thank you,
Trudi Driscoll
