Dear Families!
Thank you to all who could be our special guests this past Friday during Parent and Special Friend Day! First grade was counting the days until Friday and they were so excited to show you their favorite activities we do in class during the week as well as our bulletin boards. I have enclosed photos of them for those who could not make the day. This week we continue celebrating Catholic School Week with daily plans to celebrate!
Monday: Music in the morning. Please also have your child bring a towel to sit on during our picnic-style lunch outside with their “Crews”.
On Tuesday: PE time. We will also celebrate our wonderful staff who help make our school an amazing place to be each day!
Wednesday: Music in the morning. We will also celebrate our students with a “Free Dress” and a longer lunchtime to enjoy! In the afternoon, we will have a special activity planned by the middle school.
On Thursday: PE time. We will also give thanks to the parish for their time with our students with thank you cards for the rectory.
Friday: We will have a 2pm dismissal and a game/activities afternoon after lunch with the middle school.
In class, we will switch up our addition and subtraction by doing word problems. Our science fun will continue with our winter theme and look at hibernation. Using science books on hibernation we will review how non-fiction books are structured: photos, subtitles, graphs, maps.
We will continue to study last week’s spelling words and will do the check-in on the following Tuesday. It is a challenging list.
There will be no homework packet sent home this week to celebrate Catholic School Week! Please continue to read with your child and enjoy a good book together.

Have a great week!
Mrs. Driscoll
