Dear Parents, May 21, 2018
Here’s what we are doing in first grade…
Language Arts: We will be taking this week to work on our zoo report! We picked the animal we will be studying last week and are anxious to observe it in its natural habitat. There will be no new spelling words for the rest of the school year.
Math: We are wrapping up Unit 10. We will be continuing our review and taking our year-end test next week!
Science: We are wrapping up our chapter on how matter can change. We will be taking our final science test next week!
Social Studies: We will spend the rest of our time in first grade learning about our country.
Religion: We will work from our Family Life Series as we come to a close in that curriculum.
Homework for the Week:
- Monday: IXL Math J.6 and IXL ELA M.5
- Tuesday: Just Read
- Wednesday: Read, read, read!
Reminders for the Week:
- We are going to the Santa Barbara Zoo on Tuesday! Students are to wear their SHS polo shirt and PE shoes. I suggest jeans or jean shorts for the bottoms! Please make sure to send your child with a sack lunch as we will be gone all day!
- No PE Uniforms this week!
- We will do our best to get in to the library one more time before the end of the school year. Please remind your student to bring their library book on Wednesday in the hopes that we can sneak in!
- No school on Thursday, as faculty members will attend a retreat.
- No school on Friday and Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Enjoy the break!
Have an excellent week!
