HOMEWORK
Fluency
Math Worksheets: Our test will be on Thursday. I sent home a math worksheet to review before the math test on Thursday. Please take some time to review.
Reading Log: Reading log this week with no book report. Next week, students will be doing a nonfiction book report.
Sight Words: Study daily for 3-5 min. I will be testing them on the 3rd and 4th week of Feb.
Spelling Test: Spelling Test will be on Friday.
A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS
Language Arts
Grammar/Writing: We are working on our information writing. We will be checking to see if we are engaging our readers with our beginning sentence.
Example: Dancing is fun.
Example of an engaging sentence: Did you know there are different kinds of dances? I am going to teach you about three different kinds of dances.
Reading/Phonics: In phonics, we will be studying our new word wall words (should, than, could, any, today, back, mother).
In reading, we continue learning to “chat” about what we are learning about from our nonfiction books. We are discussing what we have learned so we can remember the information.
Math: Math test will be on Thursday.
Science: I hope your child shared what they learned last week regarding Why we can’t see stars out during the day? We had lots of fun figuring out the reason.
Social Studies: We are learning about our country (United States Map, States, Flag, Declaration of Independence).
Religion: We will be discussing & writing about what we do to make good choices like Jesus. We will also be getting our weekly visit by our seminarians on Thursday.
REMINDERS
- Library books are due every Tuesday. Students are allowed to check out two books only if books are returned.
- Free Dress $1- or more for a charity in Australia for the fires.
- Take a peek at our school calendar for any reminders of future half days or days off.
