HOMEWORK: No Homework this week except to study for spelling test. The spelling test will be on Monday.
Math: Your child can review math facts on IXL.
A SNEAK PEEK AT OUR ACADEMICS
Language Arts
Grammar/Writing: We are using a rubric to check our writing. We are adding a new topic to our writing. Students who have written more than two topics will learn how to make a Table of Contents page. 🙂
Reading/Phonics: In phonics, we will are learning to read word parts like -ash, -ick, -ank, and -est. We have added to our words parts (-ill, -ell, -unk, -ing, -ink). No need to sound out when you know the word part. Students are beginning to notice these word parts in their spelling sorts or while they are reading.
In reading, we are reading with partners. We introduce our topic and give a few facts about our topic.
Math: I will be giving a mid-year assessment to the students on Friday. You will be able to review it next Tuesday when I send them home.
Religion: We are adding to our SLE’s and learning about our Pope, Archibishop, bishop, and priests.
REMINDERS
- Library books are due every Tuesday. Students are allowed to check out two books only if books are returned.
- Progress Reports: I’ve had a few requests for conferences. If you would like to meet, please send me an email.
