Weekly Homework
Homework due EVERY Tuesday.
Fluency: Students are to do four days of fluency homework.
Reading Challenge: Reminder that students need to read M,T,W,TH,F, or M. It must be a total of 5 days of reading.
Math IXL: A.22 and D.5
Practice first and last name at home.
No library this week due to school testing.
Sneak Peek to our Academic Week
Word Work: We begin our week with the same sorts except for one group. You will know if your child has new sorts with their list in their planner. If you would like your child to take an extra sort, please write it in his/her planner. I will be sure they grab one. They will have their spelling test on Monday.
Reading/Phonics: We are working on comprehension: Compare & Contrast
We finished our read-aloud, Boxcar Children. We began our movie on Friday and finished it today. We were able to find similarities and differences between the book and the movie. We will continue our comparison and contrast this week.
Our next read aloud will be Dory Fantasmagory.
Writing/Grammar: We begin our information writing. Students began the unit with an assessment. They were able to choose a topic and write about it. We will complete the assessment this week and begin our lessons.
Math: Frames and Arrows have been a challenge for most kids. I will be sending a review worksheet next week so they can practice at home. We will be working on missing addends while adding. Example: ___+8=10 or ___+3=10
Religion: We have played Stump the Shepherd (Trivia Game) to review our last 2 units. We will begin Unit 3 at the end of this week.
Art: No art this week due to Monday being a holiday.
Science: Last week, we learned why emojis were created?
Social Studies: Things from Long Ago
100’s day is coming up. I will be sending home a paper bag with instructions next week. This will be part of an activity we will begin on January 31st.

- Reminder to return Family Envelopes. Don’t forget to sign the permission slip for the Virtus Lesson I will be presenting to the students in February.
- Friday: 2 pm Dismissal
